"Mother" Stacked Parchment QP Freebie

I haven't been to my computer in what seems like ages. Unfortunately my heart decided to act up and sent my blood pressure soaring, to at one point 206/109 !! Thankfully due to my hubby and my very good new young doctor from South Africa, the medication is kicking in and I feel more normal (is that good you ask)

The wonderful Fran (Imagine) reminded me about Mother's Day so I took this opportunity of uploading this "Mother" QP which I had been working on a couple of weeks ago. Hope you like it, I tried to recreate ' parchment ' paper which I love working on in the real world LOL. The colours remind me of my own Mother and Grandmother as they loved soft shades. Another new freebie frame. This one is grungy but pretty as well. I love it. The colour looks lovely with old black & white pics so look in your dusty old drawers, see something that takes your fancy and frame it!!! Fran sent me a beautiful LO of her little grand-daughter with the previous stamped frame. I love to see how others use my stuff so if you did something nice with the last one or with this, send it. There is no dropped shadow on the png file but on the preview here I used a shadow with a very low opacity - about 25% - just enough to lift it off the page but not to take the stamped effect away. Enjoy!

This is a 'Stamped Frame' I made today. I decided to share it with you as it looked so nice on a page I'm working on for my aunt. I made a new preview page too and a new TOU as well!
I don't know why, as over the weekend I had some serious thinking to do about whether I would continue to give freebies at all. The jury, as they say, is out - for the moment anyway.
Maybe I live in cookoo land, but I try to live by the ethics I was taught as a child. It's simple.. when someone is kind enough to give you something, then you should return the kindness by saying thank you. No Big Deal. As I have written before I was a serial 'Mopper Upper' of freebies in a past life, however, no matter how small the item was I always left a thank you. For some time now I have noticed the thank you's on my download page almost dwindle away to nothing which is so demoralising when so much time is spent making a freebie. Anyway... I hope you enjoy this little frame, it's handier than a brush as you can rotate it to fit your picture without having to stamp on a separate layer. Download below

Button Up baby QP Freebie

This is the second QP as promised, it will make a nice double page layout along with the previous page. The bent frames give a 'blowing in the wind' look which is what I wanted for the winter pictures. The words running around the frames are "baby it's cold outside" and "All buttoned up" Again, expressions we tend to use when getting the little ones ready for the outdoors in cold weather.
While I was making these pages I decided to make some complimentary 'word art' in the form of dangles. I thought they looked nice pinned on to a little piece of the striped 'cloth' I made for the sidebar on this page. I hope you like what I've done and I would like to thank the few who continue to support me and leave nice comments. I have been living in a different world in the last 18 months since my hubby became ill and so, I have only occasionally blogged and posted freebies. ONE FOR THE Little BOYS

Hope you like this new QP Freebie, geared towards the boys. I was hoping to be using nice spring colours by now but Brrr it sure is cold - which is how I got the title for this "Brrr.." QP. As anyone who knows me knows - I love boys, (had three of my own) and any excuse to try my new QPs with my boys photos is a winner for me. I made the little heart buttons first and then used the colours to design the paper. I have another similar page coming up which will compliment this one, so enjoy your freebie and I hope to see you back in a day or two.

No sign of warmer weather so far although my little willow trees have been brave enough to put out a few catkins. For me it's always the first sign of Spring along with the snowdrops and the daffodils. A lot of my plants and trees were really battered by the storms this winter, the sea winds were so strong a few weeks ago that during the night a beautiful Oleria tree was lifted right out of the ground. It flattened bushes & plants where it fell and our garden birds lost their feeding table too. The tree was beyond saving so we sawed it into logs for the fire, though I don't know if I have the heart to burn it. It was a tiny cutting about ten years ago, then gradually a little bush and finally a beautiful 20ft evergreen tree. A great haven for birds and occasionally our wayward cat Buster!! don't ask.

NEW FREEBIE QP 'Student days'

Here is my latest freebie gift to you. The papers are from a school-days kit I have been working on recently. I was making something entirely different when my mind began to wander - a regular occurrence these days LOL - anyway, what I was making at the time was a photo layout for one of my friends so she could scrap - not literally - her not so little boy. He's past that stage now, not a baby or a toddler but a real BOY and you will all know what that means, the beginning of a mother's grey hair and wrinkles! However many smiles they bring to your face there are just as many heart stopping moments (boys tend to experiment, they have an inner urge to know how 'things' work) Things including electric stuff & pyrotechnics. For any reader who is blissfully unaware, "Pyrotechnics is the science of materials capable of undergoing self-contained and self-sustained exothermic chemical reactions for the production of heat, light, gas, smoke and/or sound."

How do I know all that you think. Simple, I learned it from the Friendly insurance guy who came to tell me I couldn't claim for my scorched/burned/melted kitchen flooring. I tried to tell him it was an accident, he wouldn't hear of it. I stood my 8 year old blond/blue eyed (angel) in front of him and pointed to the melting plastic airplanes which were dangling on strings from the kitchen ceiling. Did he really think this child would deliberately try to burn the house down?

Well, yes he did, in a sort of a way, He said I could only claim for accidental damage, so technically, by lighting a plastic airplane with SAFETY???? matches my little demon had intended arson! Aaaagh!!

That was a long time ago, the first of my grey hairs and of many failed experiments multiplied by three! But my boys, well I wouldn't have changed them for the world. Oh and by the way, the blond/blue eyed angel, having been steered in the right direction (anywhere that didn't involve matches) is now a successful architect who never forgets mother's day. Love ya Gary. Now what was I saying....... Oh yes, the new freebie, for your young (or once upon a time young) scientists/students. The dark nights are closing in... there are green-faced witches and red eyed monsters everywhere.... Ooooh (did I mean politicians) YOU BET!! But I won't say a thing about the Lisbon Treaty.. not even mention that this country, Ireland (are we still a country) - that this State - was bullied, scared witless, bribed, and threatened by the men in suits from Europe. As one of the few countries who had a democracy, (I say had with a heavy heart) our hard won independance has been trampled into the ground with the assistance of our own spineless bunch of political nincompoops, and the sheep they led by the nose. The YES camp won, "It's Democracy" they shout, but why then, when we voted NO last year was That democracy not accepted.

Well, it wasn't the answer Europe wanted so they made us vote again. The goal of a United States of Europe has almost been attained. Global World - THE NEW WORLD ORDER ... it's well on it's way.

Talking about green faced witches and monsters these are my Halloween QPs. I'm re-issuing them as they were very popular last year and some of you sent me the cutest pics especially the wonderfully talented Fran.

I made them long so you can use them as book-marks or chic tags. They are stamped on to my linen paper and have matching gems in the flowers.

When I make my own bookmarks I print on to light weight card and use a toning paper cut to size stuck on the back, if you use a laminating machine they will be gorgeous & last as long as you want them to. I usually punch the hole and tie a little cord through it.

Last Christmas I made some instead of cards, as I gave books for presents I just put the bookmarks inside. My friends said they loved them so I think I'll do the same again this year. Download below, Enjoy, and don't forget the TY

This is a nice little mini kit I thought you would like.

It has three toning papers and nine elements. I named it "School Days" when I started it a few months ago, but the folder will say 'School Holidays Over' !!!! My oh MY doesn't time fly, and I can't believe I saw halloween stuff in the shops already.

I hope you get some use out of this kit, the colours will suit the boys (you know I love them) and they are soft enough for the girls too with the little flowers. Try the "cloudy Flower cluster" it's slightly see through, also the cute "Beautiful Dreamer butterfly" will add a splash of colour. For your little star I made the "Star Pupil" badge so all you need is a picture. Oh yes, the little 'brushy flowers' they look nice scattered over the page at random in different sizes. This is a new QP freebie I call Sssh....

Since my husband became ill last year I have spent less and less time blogging and even less time creating so this quick page has taken me quite a while. I made the kit in the spring of this year, I called it "Pretty" because of the softness, textures and colours of the papers and the elements and of course I decided it would be an ideal kit for babies - boy or girl. About 2 years ago (it seems such long time now) I described myself as a 'mopper upper' to a friend. She hadn't a clue what I meant so I explained about digital freebies. At that time I had no knowledge of how to use Photoshop or any other digital software but I was a dab hand with scissors & glue and had a mountain of very expensive papers, sticky on things, beads, buttons ribbons... (have you time for this?)

What I mean is I did a lot of 'scrapbooking' and hand craft, it was my way to relax.

One day I looked at the pile of boxes and folders of STUFF and realised I would never live long enough to use it so looking for places I could donate my stash to I googled scrapbooking into my computer and suddenly I found a world of digital heaven... and all of it FREE! Thats where 'Mopper Upper' came in.

For a while I downloaded every freebie in the entire world - well.. maybe not EVERY freebie but close. I was like a junkie, I think it was a reaction to all the money I spent on the real stuff. When my crazy period subsided I took time to look at some of the blogs and read them, I discovered lovely and clever people, 99% of them women and so generous with their time and talent, people like my dear friend Fran at Imagine. My very sweet June (cen's Loft) who always has time to help me, Linda at 'Linda's Lot' Kim from Kim's Scrappin Pam Lefors, Kimbsdesigns, dnadryad , kalina and so many more - these are just a very few of the wonderful, wonderfully talented women who share.

I decided to learn and be part of that experience. It has taken me a while but I hope I can go on improving and sharing with anyone who wants my work. Just one thing... (you didn't think you were going to get away without a lecture did you?) Please say THANK YOU, it's one word but shows you respect what we give. Took this pic a few days ago,

we rescued this big furry monster a couple of years ago when he was a cute purring little angel. He hates me to go out in the car without him so the other day when I distracted him and leapt into the car, I thought it would be a simple get-a-way! Not a chance, he launched himself on to the bonnet and then spread himself over the windscreen - (a considerable spread as you can see)

I started the engine - he tried the big shrek eyes and the the roll onto his back. I reversed a bit - he licked the windscreen!!!

What can you do ? this guy rides around the fields with local farmers and sits on top of the trailers with the workers. He knows no fear (apart from when we brought him to the vet to curtail his oats farming if you know what I mean).

I let him in, he sat on the front passenger seat and purred away to the radio.

Hi, this is S.B.O.B.

I decided I should be brave enough to start saying NO to the worlds gamblers being bailed out with tax payers money. It seems every week taxes are being raised from every source possible, mostly from the working class who have no voice in the corridors of power.

In my humble opinion our politicians haven't a clue about how to solve this disaster, even worse they are taking advice from 'economists' who must have been on holiday when all the world's money was sucked into a black hole in space. Where has it gone? Who has it?

None of the professional wheelers and dealers have answered the question, but a lot of them have just slithered off into the ether. No explanations required, they have been let off with a scolding my granny would scoff at.

Meanwhile our leaders take our children's heritage and pass it on to the same people who 'lost' the money in the first place, no doubt keeping their fingers crossed that it will work this time. More and more money is being poured into a useless system that has failed. Would all these billions not be better spent in projects that create jobs? I have only one voice but I hope some of you will agree and put S.B.O.B. on your blogs, email to friends and family etc. we can send awards and caterpillars around the globe, lets try it with S.B.O.B. This is the second Easter QP that I promised,

These are precious times with your "little Bunnies", boys and girls as they grow up so fast, the memories will be wonderful both for you and them. Grannies, get snapping too, sometimes we oldies 'see' from a different perspective and the resulting photos are a different slant on life.

I decided this year not to indulge in a chocolate egg, when I heard on the news that in Ireland there will be 14 tons of chocolate/eggs consumed over Easter!!! My New Freebie Qp "Easter Bunny Boy"

This is a LO done with my new "softy stripe" papers,

I had to show off the beautiful flowers my son Gary sent me for mothers day. I didn't expect them as he had driven 16o miles to spend the day with me and he was clutching a very big box of 'Lily O'Brien' chocolates. I thought he was looking a bit agitated but later in the evening the local florist knocked at the door and produced these gorgeous flowers. Her delivery man had left them to the wrong address and was in a panic when they were returned. No harm done though, it was a great surprise and only added to the rest of a wonderful day. Thank you Gary, you are the best! and thanks too to the honest recipient who returned my flowers, you are next best.

Congratulations to all the wonderful 'Mighty Men'

Who won the Six Nations GRAND SLAM 2009 yesterday in Wales. They have lifted the spirits of everyone in this small country throughout the weeks of the tournament. I thought I was going to have a heart attack yesterday when it came down to the last two minutes and Wales were awarded a penalty. You could hear a pin drop in the stadium as the thousands of supporters held their breath and then the huge roar as the Welsh ball dropped short !

The celebrations are ongoing as I write this with a huge homecoming party in Dublin this evening and further events around the country as every fan of this fantastic bunch of young men are bursting to show their appreciation. Paul O'Connell was outstanding along with Brian O'Driscoll, Ronan O'Gara, Peter Stringer and Tommy Bowe. They happen to be my favourites but every man on the team contributed to the win which we have waited 61 years for! last word has to be for the manager Declan Kidney who has done us all proud, long may it continue.

As you can see there are no big leprechauns, sparkly CLOVER or rainbows with pots of gold at the end! I know millions around the world will be wearing the wigs and big hats and good luck to them, I hope they have a great time, anything to lighten the mood at this dreadful time.

For myself, this QP represents how I like to see St. Patrick's day represented - with dignity.

I'm Back! We've been doing a bit of travelling, seeing places we haven't been for a while. Some - like Donegal, never disappoint while others like Malta have changed beyond recognition. My once favourite, and quiet little fishing harbours are now chocked full of modern high-rise hotels and tourists. From a very beautiful small island Malta has changed into one of the most highly populated places in Europe. So different from my memories of the summers I spent there. Who could think this is progress. Fortunately the Maltese people are still as friendly as I remember and when away from the 'tourist' places it was possible to find a hint of times past.

This is my new freebie "GLO China Frames".

There are five frames which I hope you will like.

The colours are lovely and soft so I think you'll find lots of uses for them.

I've used my dog 'Chew' in one of them to show what they will look like. To make it handy for you I also added backgrounds to match each colour, so all you have to do is put your pic on the background and place the frame on top.

Easy peasy! It will look like there is glass in the frame!

Don't you just love my beautiful old friend. His official name was 'Glen-Valley Wagtail' but he was renamed 'Chew" after he ate the fingers out of my Mother's expensive kid leather gloves! HI, long time no see!! Unfortunately I was as they say 'under the weather'. I should have recognised that things were not right when I could feel my heart trying to beat it's way out of my chest! STRESS!

I had an email from the lovely Silvia who wants me to help GOGGA on his round the world trip. It all started with a little girl named Lyndie and a geography lesson. We have to see how far we can get GOGGA around the world (I suspect he will be dizzy before very long and will rival the CERN project for speed and rotation.) Apparently he is a chawcha/bug, I think he might be known as a caterpiller on this side of the world as he looks remarkably like the fella who was chewing my poor little willow tree (which is now almost bare of leaves). It's a good thing this Gogga is digital or I might consider dropping him on the bird table. Oh there I go again, but if you could see my tree!! sniff sniff.

I'm sending this to June which will take Gogga to England and then to KrisG in Chicago Ill. USA . I might have a little baileys to toast him on his way LOL.

My latest freebie is a new quick Page which I named "HOT SUMMER NIGHTS"

I had great fun doing the 'steamy' cloud effect on the frames and I have put lines there as well so you can add some journaling - like names and dates etc. I think these nice cool shades would look great with summer wedding pics, so I hope you enjoy the Qp, as well as the sunshine (fingers crossed) if it lasts.

Oh by the way, just in case you missed it, I heard the other day that we might not be getting the protection we thought we were from sun creams. Apparently the brainy ones who decide how effective the creams will be, assumed that we would be lathering the stuff on with a brush! They assumed about four times more than the average person uses! It's all about selling more product really, but if you want to be protected properly you will need to grease yourself as if you were diving in to swim the English channel, Oh it's sure to be a very slippery summer. Wax dummies lying about everywhere Yuk!

Is it a Month by J.M.Synge

This is a layout I thought the 'romantics' among you might like. It is based on a beautiful love poem "Is it a month" by renowned Irish writer, and poet, J.M.Synge (pronounced 'sing') who lived 1891-1909

I used my own 'Folded' paper for the poem to accentuate the era it was written in, and overlaid it on to a tree background using 80 opacity. Then I used dark blue colour masks opacity 6 at the top and graduating to opacity 3 towards the bottom. As the words "wet and windy hedge" are in the poem I aimed for an overall wintery effect as well as trying to keep the aged feel of the poem, finally for effect I added stars . Take a few minutes, click the preview and enjoy this wonderful old poem.

FAITH & HOPE Woodshop Tags

This is the second pair of tags from my 'Woodshop' series. I have done 10 in all, to cover most occasions.

The metal words on these as you can see in the preview, are "Faith" and "Hope", two words which I hear everywhere today but not in the context we would like I'm sure. How could anyone have faith in bankers, Insurers, and worst of all politicians. No, "Faith" is not what comes to mind when I think of those.

Woodshop Tags "CHERISH & HOPE"

My "CLASSIC WEDDING Alpha" Lowercase

To every one who left comments and thanks for my Classic Alpha and for everyone who emailed me asking for the lower case, here it is. I love the soft glitter and the cream shades which are so popular for weddings. I'm already started on my son's wedding album and I've also used it on First Communion and Baptism LO's for friends. Enjoy using the full alpha, There is shadow on the uppercase letters, however there is none on the lower case letters as I think it is better to lay out the word, group or merge and then add shadow. Here is some word-art for you. I took the picture while on a break to my favourite place in Ireland - Kinsale in Co. Cork. This is part of a 'walk' at the hotel we always stay in (Carlton Hotel Kinsale). I always catch my breath when I see the sun coming through the trees - hence the words. I decided to add texture to 'rough' it up a little and the train, helicopter and truck along with the other embellishments were designed to add to the theme. I named this one "CONSTRUCTION" for obvious reasons, though as a mother of three 'boys' it was a toss up with de-construction! LOL, - Boys will be boys! Hope you like this one. In honour of all the wonderful fathers out there, I made this QP for 'Father's Day'. The colours are denim based so should be suitable for just about any dad, young - or like me! lol. I'm chuffed with my 'Cool' ball, I thought of adding another but for the sake of modesty (WHAT!!) I thought one would do it. If you look at the text border it is made up of 'Father' in as many different languages as I could fit, hopefully I covered most. I'd love to see what you do with this as there is plenty of scope for pictures, especially those that are not great overall, but show dad's hands or his favourite slippers, little things mean a lot! as the old song goes. Hi, late again, but I hope this new quick page makes up for it. This is my first serious doodle! YES! but it took me nearly a whole day getting it right so I hope all my effort was worthwhile.

As to my delay in posting - blame the sun and the visitors, and the fact I live beside the beach! Besides the beautiful view of the sand and sea we get to see the most mind boggling sights when the sun comes out. I thought I was seeing things on Sunday when what looked like two big red lobsters waddled into the water, not so, just two idiots burned to a crisp!

Obviously someone told them the salt water would cool them down. (probably nearly froze them to death) LOL (sorry) but I have no patience for twits. Do they never see or read the ads for protective sun creams! Anyway, that's my gripe for the week, sunbathe safely!

NEW FREEBIE! "MOTHER"S DRESS QP"

It seems like ages since I posted but I hope you will like this QP. I had no broadband connection due to cable faults? and no emails in or out but I was amazed that after a few days of checking the mailbox, I just fell back into my real life and caught up on so much stuff I had neglected like writing and music. I also designed papers and kits of which 'Mother's Dress' is a part. The dress paper reminds me of how my Grandfather who was a fantastic dancer, used to waltz my mother around the room, her dress swirling just like the paper shows. You might have an aunt or someone who took the mother's role in your life, I would love to see what you do with this QP, but enjoy it and as always, cherish 'Mother'.

Sisters and Timeless

This layout of my granny Magdalen and her sister Mary is done with my new "Timeless" kit. I am so pleased at how the kit turned out as I wanted to get this soft but not overpowering look for the old pictures. I resized the 'Journal card ' to frame the pictures and I haven't cleaned up the pics either as I think some of the charm is lost when the 'age' is removed.

The history here is that the picture was taken shortly before their mother died of consumption, and as their father was also deceased, the girls along with their brother Hugh were brought up by their maternal grandmother Cassie. Mary emigrated to Canada as a young bride, while Hugh and Magdalen remained in Derry. They all married happily and have left a legacy of love and family commitment.

A new LO for Spring
This is an extracted section of my "weeping willow" tree which I made a few weeks ago. I was so busy with Paddy's day and then Easter that I almost forgot about it. I wanted to get a picture before the wind and rain did their worst. When I see the first catkins on the willow I know spring is around the corner - usually. Happy St. Patricks Day from Dublin

Just had to let you see this LO of Buster who is fascinated by all things especially if it falls into the food or drink category. He would dip his paw in the glass (and lick it ) lol, if we didn't keep an eye on him. The pink curly cord you can see is the 'legs' of his mouse friend 'simon' just before it was flicked in the air, causing a rumpus as we all grabbed the drinks. Spilling a drink on Paddy's Day, Sacrilege!!!!

The sun is splitting the sky here in Dublin today and the parade was fantastic. There were fabulous high school marching bands from all over USA as well as practically everywhere else in the world. For such a small country we sure have made our mark and with the help of St. Patrick, Irish eyes will be smiling for a long time. I hope the sun was shining for you too.

This layout features antique Irish Belleek fine parian china, made in Co. Fermanagh at the Belleek pottery which was established in 1857. The pottery is still producing it's beautiful china and has a wonderful visitors centre which is well worth including in your tour if you are planning a trip to Ireland.

The cluster frame which you see here is embellished with 'glass shamrocks' which match my 'Glass Shamrock alpha' freebie, so the two can be used together.

I am giving the cluster frame along with the shamrock/hearts cascade as a freebie. (Pictures and my background paper are not included) and I am hoping to see layouts from some of the many 'ex Pats' and people who have Irish connections, in practically every country in the world. The Irish National holiday "St. Patrick's Day" is almost here, there and everywhere! In celebration I have tried to make some 'usable' freebies for you. The first one is this "GlassShamrock Alpha". I love how it turned out. I used a piece of old worn wool fabric for the green background. Also, I left an Irish sentiment for you all in the download section. Enjoy!

A new little freebie for you. These will go with the 'Boys Will Be Boys' kit. Two cut out frames, one with word art, "Live, Laugh, Grow" the other has a nice colour edge. Hope you like these, I think it's handy to have unusual shaped frames for those pics that are cropped to head and shoulders. I did this Lo for a challenge at cens loft. June has some great freebie cardboard pieces which I used here, one to frame the page, and the arrow to point at my two little devils - (it's ok, they grew out of it!) The background paper, tag (modified) and journaling element are all from my 'BOYS WILL BE BOYS' kit below. This is my latest FREEBIE KIT!. It's called "Boys Will Be Boys" I thought it would be wrong to leave the boys out, as I love them so much. (that's for my sons!)

This is my Lo, using my kit "Beautiful Dreamer" featuring my sweet baby cats, Rex and Tiger. Thanks to everyone who left lovely comments, I hope you enjoy using the kit.

Also, Fran did another great LO with the 'Beautiful Dreamer' kit. This time she used the papers and elements in her own Frantastic style (see it in the guest slide below).

Fran sent me a beautiful Lo 'Spring in the Air'. The word is ...Beautiful. And she used the ribbon from 'beautiful Dreamer'! (well, it matches perfectly and for Fran to use anything of mine is an honour!) Also, lovely Sue in Australia has sent me two LO's with wonderful pics from her holiday in Ireland. She used a combination of Fran's paper with my frames and Shamrocks, and she cleverly matched the text on her journaling to the text I used on the shamrock spray. Great work Sue! You are a great advertisement for Ireland and Guinness. And finally, Linda sent me a LO of her grand-daughter Ebony, using my Beautiful Dreamer kit. Adorable! She used some of the words from the song as the title, really lovely. See them all in the guest slide at the end of the page.

Well I got through Mother's Day! My thanks to everyone who left comments and emailed me regarding my 'Mother' Lo. I was deeply touched by the sincerity of all of you. While I worked on the LO I made some elements and papers which I have decided to give as a freebie, my FIRST KIT! And, as a tribute to my Granny, who was a 'Beautiful Dreamer' that is what I have named it.

Sunday is Mother's day, unfortunately like every other 'special' day it is being commercialised to a degree that insults the original idea. I believe most mothers would be happy to have a visit from their children, or a card, if distance makes visiting impossible. Instead, for weeks on end we are bombarded with TV ad's, radio and newspaper ad's. Competitions to win a holiday for your mother, spa treatment, weekend in a hotel, makeover (who wants their mother made over?) Worst of all are the shop windows, displaying every bit of 'tack' that they think gullible children will buy. However, they forget it's not all about money.

When I was 9 years old I went to the corner shop on our street with twelve pennies that I had saved. I studied everything on the shelves asking prices and adding up in my head, before I decided what to buy my mother for Mother's day. A box of Rowentrees Fruit Gums! She loved them! I had two pennies left, I asked the shopkeeper what I could get for that, adding that it was for my mother. She suggested a pack of hair clips. I agreed and the sale was made. She wrapped up my gift and put a little string bow on it. (when I got home I tied one of my hair ribbons on as well). Mothers day arrived and I couldn't wait to give my present. I hid it behind my back and crept down the stairs. My older sister was there before me, my mother was opening her present. A big box of Cadbury's Black Magic chocolates! I felt my face going red and tried to back up the stairs but I had been spotted. My sister, mother, granny and granda were waiting for me so I handed over my little box. Looking at the floor I could hear the ribbon and the string bow being opened, then the brown paper rustling as the gift was revealed. I heard my sister giggle, but when I looked up, my mother was smiling at me, she said they were the best presents she ever got. My granda had something in his eye and my granny said the clips were just what was needed and she hoped she could borrow a few. Happiness enveloped me! it was

Talking with some friends and realised we had all moved from real paper to 'virtual' paper! Knowing that most of you are sitting on a fortune of unused craft supplies just like me, I did this LO and wrote lyrics to the melody of "My Favourite Things" (Julie Andrews). If you don't know it just make up your own! But have a sing and a laugh and as I said in the song, Thank God for Mac and PC. (and Fantastic designers)
